Auschwitz: Poland

While I was in Poland I stopped by Auschwitz and Burkanow. It was an incredible journey through history. It was very sad and reminded me a lot of my trip to Hiroshima, Japan. I wish I could upload more pics on here. Here are a few. For more pics, go to my other blog: lizpix.tumblr.com
It might not be juiced, but the electricity is still felt.

"The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art." - Leonardo DaVinci

Krakow, Poland.

Next Stop on my 2009 European tour was Poland. The only thing I can say about Poland was that the food was amazing, so good that I actually ate it before I took any pics.

Budape(sh)t

This summer I went backpacking NYC style around Europe which means I was a true New Yorker and crammed in as much as I could in minimal time; 7 countries in 15 days :) = exhausting!

The first country I went to was Budapest, Hungary. Enjoy.

Oraia: Lovely

"Folks be asking where I get this passion, said they wish they had it but they don't want to know it flows from long nights alone, His hands so heavy I only breathe in groans and sighs in the dark of the night. I drink tears from the cup I wish would pass from me but I take it to the face cause He took my past from me." Oraia (www.myspace.com/oraiapublishing)

Link to my first video documentary project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nu1qSaH2ao

This was done last semester, about 6 months or so ago. It was my first video project. The assignment was to create a personal profile on a person who interested or inspired me.

I chose Oraia, a local spoken word artist who packs a punch. I was inspired not only by the content of her art, but by the juxtaposition of her humble character and her fierce performance.

The real challenge of this first project, learning to work the camera, creatively direct a piece and edit it to make sense. Thank God I had a good project partner with a great creative eye.

Let me know what you think, all comments are welcome.
